Police have been busy cracking down on the menace of off-road bikes and scooters in Annan last night.

Patrols were carried out last night to catch offenders riding on roads and in parks, and one of the bikes was seized from the young people for not having proper documentation.

Two young males will also be reported following the seizure.

Officers have issued a reminder to the public that the bikes “are often not roadworthy” but they will continue to “deter and detect”.

They also mentioned that they commonly find that off-road bikes and scooters are being used by youths with no licence or insurance, and don’t wear appropriate safety equipment.
