Officers called in the help of police dogs

A search of the vehicle by drug dogs revealed Class A drugs with an estimated street value of up to £42,000.

Detective Inspector Graeme Robertson said: “This has been an excellent recovery which included officers from the local area in Response and CID, Roads Policing Officers, and a drugs dog from the nearby port unit, which was all coordinated by our control room officers as the incident unfolded.

“Preventing the sale and supply of controlled drugs is a key focus and we rely on information from the public to help us continue disrupt such crimes.

“The two men are due to appear in Stranraer Sheriff Court on Wednesday, 12 July, 2023.”

Police are reminding anyone with concerns or information on drug misuse and associated criminality to report this to officers via 101. In an emergency, or when a crime is in progress, always call 999.
