Pensioner taken to hospital after A745 crash near Dalbeattie

The 71-year-old man suffered serious injuries.

Officers want anyone with information involving a serious crash on the A745 Dalbeattie to Castle Douglas road to come forward.

Around 4.10pm on Saturday, 5 April 2025, a red Ducati F848 motorcycle and a silver Skoda Octavia car collided.

Emergency services arrived at the scene of the incident and took a 71-year-old man to hospital to treat his serious injuries.

The car driver didn’t need any medical treatment.

Sergeant David Kerr said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of this crash and we are appealing to the public for information.

“If you saw anything then please get in touch. We are also asking drivers to check dash-cam to see if there is something recorded that could help our investigation.”
