Police have been busy clamping down on anti-social behaviour in Stranraer carparks and streets.

Numerous vehicle stop checks were carried out and officers detected several offences in relation to driving, construction, and vehicle modifications.

One vehicle was seized as this was its second warning within a year under the Anti-Social Behaviour (Scotland) Act 2004.

Constable Matthew Pool from Stranraer Road Policing Unit commented "It can be tempting for young people to personalise their car by adding modifications such as aftermarket exhausts, window tints etc.

“You must notify your insurance if you have changed anything on your vehicle, failure to do so may make your insurance null and void. Please be considerate to your community, excessive noise from exhausts or music equipment is not acceptable and you could have your vehicle seized."
