Nominees confirmed for 2024 Dumfries and Galloway Youth Awards

Young people from across the region will be recognised at a ceremony on November 28th at Easterbrook Hall in Dumfries

Young people from all over the region are being recognised for their achievements, as the nominees for this year’s Dumfries and Galloway Youth Awards are announced.

The event at Easterbrook Hall, Dumfries on Thursday 28 November and will focus on celebrating the amazing achievements of young people aged 12 to 25 in Dumfries and Galloway over the last 12 months.

More than 30 groups and individuals are in the running in categories including Equality, Sport and Young Enterprise and Business.

Councillor Maureen Johnstone, Chair of Dumfries and Galloway Council’s Education, Skills and Community Wellbeing Committee said: “We received an extremely high number of quality nominations for this year’s awards. All the nominations showcased the fantastic achievements of young people from across Dumfries and Galloway. The young people shortlisted as finalists are all deserving of an award, and I look forward to the ceremony on 28 November when the winners will be announced.”

Councillor Lynne Davis, Vice-Chair of Dumfries and Galloway Council’s Education, Skills and Community Wellbeing Committee said: “I am looking forward to hearing the stories and journeys of the young people who are finalists at this year’s DG Youth Awards. Youth Work is happening in all of our communities, towns and villages in Dumfries and Galloway, and as a region we should be proud of that. I would like to extend my congratulations to everyone who has been shortlisted as a finalist this year.”

The Dumfries and Galloway Youth Awards are fully funded by the Young Gamechangers Fund and the National Lottery.
