Biker dies in crash in Dumfries and Galloway

A motorcyclist has died after a crash in Dumfries and Galloway.

The 41-year-old man was with a group of bikers when he came off his bike on the B723 Annan to Eskdalemuir Road in Boreland around 2.30pm on Sunday afternoon.

Emergency services attended but the man sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene.

The road was closed for several hours while investigatory work was carried out.

Police are appealing for information.

Sergeant David Kerr said: “An investigation is under way to establish the full circumstances of the crash.

"I would appeal to anyone who was in the area around the time of the incident who may have any information to contact us.

"Any small piece of information could assist our enquiries as we piece together what has happened.”
