Missing Middlesbrough man's car found in Mull of Galloway Car Park

Police have launched a search after Ernestas Dagys' vehicle was discovered on Tuesday afternoon

The car of a missing 42-year-old man reported missing from Middlesbrough has been found in the Mull of Galloway Car Park, prompting a police investigation.

Police were made aware of concern for Ernestas Dagys following a report his car had been discovered at around 12pm on Tuesday.

Searches are being carried out in the area with specialist resources, including assistance from the RNLI and HM Coastguard.

Ernestas is described as white, around 5’8” tall, of slim build with short brown hair. When last seen he was wearing a black jacket, grey tracksuit bottoms and black trainers.

Inspector Stephen Judge said: “I’m appealing for any information which may help us trace Ernestas.

“Following enquiries, we believe he travelled to the Mull of Galloway area on Sunday, 25 February.

“If you’ve been in the area since Sunday, please think back. Did you see someone matching his description? Please get in touch with any information you have.

“Ernestas, if you see this appeal, please make contact with police so we can ensure you’re safe and well.”
