Man due in court after £260,000 cannabis bust in Cairnryan
A 27-year-old man was arrested and charged following a search of a vehicle at Loch Ryan Port on Wednesday morning
A 27-year-old man has been charged after cannabis with a potential street value of £260,000 was seized by police at the Loch Ryan Port in Cairnryan.
At around 6.50am on Wednesday officers stopped a car at the port and during a search of the vehicle a significant quantity of the Class B drug was recovered.
A 27-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with the recovery and is due to appear before Stranraer Sheriff Court on Thursday, 22 February, 2024.
Detective Chief Inspector Caryn McIndewar said: “Our officers are committed to disrupting the drugs trade in local communities and will rigorously pursue every means possible to protect members of the public from this harmful criminality.
“Seizures such as this show our commitment nationally to the Serious Organised Crime Taskforce and the country’s Serious and Organised Crime Strategy.
