Police recover drugs at Cairnryan estimated worth more than £350,000

A 25-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection.

Police officers have seized an estimated street value of £385,000 of cannabis from a vehicle at Loch Ryan Sea Port, Cairnryan.

The recovery was made around 10.50pm on Monday, 5 August 2024 and arrested and charged a 25-year-old man in connection.

He is to appear at Stranraer Sheriff Court on Tuesday, 6th August 2024 and the Procurator Fiscal will be sent a report.

A police spokesperson said:

“Drugs cause misery in our communities and tackling those involved in the cultivation and supply of drugs is a priority for Police Scotland.

“The public has an important role to play, and we encourage anyone who has any information or concerns about drugs to contact Police Scotland via 101 or anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
