A woman killed in a two-car crash on the M6 in Cumbria, along with four others, has been named locally as Jade McEnroe from Glasgow.

Jade is understood to have been travelling in a Toyota which crashed head-on with another vehicle on the northbound carriageway on Tuesday afternoon.

In the car with the 33-year-old mum was two boys, aged 15 and seven, and the driver, reportedly 42-year-old Jaroslaw Rossa, also from Glasgow.

All four lost their lives in the crash, and another seven-year-old boy has been left seriously injured in hospital.

A second man from Cambridgeshire, who had been behind the wheel of a Skoda, was also killed at the scene.

Paying tribute on social media, Claire Watt said: “Words are absolutely failing me at this moment.

“Jade, I cannot get what has happened out my mind.

“A beautiful soul taken far too soon, you will be truly missed more than you’ll ever know.”

Meanwhile, Lisajane Alderson said: “Still can’t wrap my head around this news.

Jade was a lovely girl and a wonderful mum, always got her the same way, always kind and beautiful.”

A fundraiser set up to raise money for the families impacted now stands at over £5,000.
