Police appeal for information following A75 crash

Police are appealing for information following a car crash on Dumfries bypass, which saw a 19 year old woman hospitalised.

The crash took place on Sunday the 1st of October, involving a blue Volkswagen Bora.

Emergency services were alerted to the incident at 8:50pm, responding to reports of a single vehicle crash on the A75 Gretna to Stranraer road, near the Lockerbie Road roundabout.

A road closure was put in place for around three hours while officers conducted investigations.

The 19 year old female passenger was taken by ambulance to Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary.

Enquiries remain ongoing

Speaking on the incident, Road Policing Constable Callum Kingstree said: “I’m appealing for anyone who was in the area around the time and saw what happened, or has dashcam footage, to get in touch.

“The Volkswagen was travelling with a blue BMW around the time of the crash and I’m keen to speak to anyone who saw the vehicles as we try to establish exactly what happened.”
