Youth Beatz Festival is returning to Dumfries and Galloway and is looking for volunteers
In 2023, adults and young people helped out for over 9,300 hours.
The Youth Beatz Festival is looking for volunteers to help run this year's event across Dumfries and Galloway’s wards.
This 9 day event offers a range of different opportunities for young people and adults to help out with, whether it’s behind the scenes or in the public eye.
The roles can vary from photographers, customer service, content creators, and donation point collectors.
Chair of Dumfries and Galloway Council’s Communities Committee, Councillor Ian Blake describes this as the “perfect opportunity” that will suit all interests.
He says this event is ideal for anyone looking to gain experience, strengthen skills and become more involved in the community.
Blake adds he was overwhelmed with the turnout of support last year and is hoping to have the same response again this year:
“In 2023, we were incredibly grateful to have over 9,300 hours of volunteering from both young people and adults. If you are thinking of signing up for Youth Beatz 2024, I would encourage you to do so. There are plenty of opportunities to suit all interests, whether this is in customer service or stage management. If you have some spare time or would like to get some volunteer experience, we’d be delighted to hear from you.”
Vice-Chair of Dumfries and Galloway Council’s Communities Committee, Councillor Jackie McCamon, also adds:
“Our council is very grateful to those who choose to volunteer their time to this fantastic event that brings so much to our region. We are also delighted that we will once again be welcoming back young volunteers from across Scotland who will be participating in their Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Gold Residential through the festival.”
