Drug bust on M74 near Lockerbie

Two people are to appear at Dumfries Sheriff Court at a later date.

Both individiduals were arrested and charged in connection.

Two people have been arrested and charged following a drugs bust on the M74.

At about 8.20pm on Wednesday, 12 November 2025, officers acting on intelligence stopped a car heading north near Lockerbie.

They seized cocaine, heroin, and cannabis worth an estimated ÂŁ77,500.

A man aged 47 and a woman aged 39 are scheduled to appear at Dumfries Sheriff Court at a later date.

Detective Superintendent Steven Elliott said: “These arrests underline our commitment to the Serious Organised Crime Taskforce and the country’s Serious Organised Crime Strategy. Taking drugs off the street is a priority for Police Scotland.

“Drugs cause misery in our communities, and the public has a vital role in helping us to trace those involving in the supply of illegal substances.
