Driver found guilty of causing death of Dumfries toddler

A Dumfries man has been found guilty of causing the death of a toddler in a horror car smash.
Alan Dalrymple, 56, knocked over two-year-old Alex Radan who was on his scooter near a play park in Charnwood Place in April 2021.
Alex was so severely injured that he died later that day at Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary.
The trial, which started on Monday, heard evidence from several people including police and forensic pathologist Dr Julie McAdam.
Dalrymple had denied the charges. He will be sentenced on March 27 but is banned from driving in the meantime.
Alex’s parents, George and Cristina Radan, have welcomed the jury's decision. They told the Dumfries Courier: "We feel like justice has been done for our son Alex."
