Man seriously injured in hospital after JCB crash

The collision happened on the A75 bypass in Dumfries

A 25-year-old man is in a serious but stable condition in hospital after a collision involving his car and a digger in Dumfries.

Emergency services were called around 10.40am on Monday following the crash on the A75 bypass between a blue Mazda and JCB towing a trailer.

The 64-year-old driver of the JCB wasn't hurt.

Police are appealing for witnesses and are urging anyone with information or dashcam footage to contact them.

The road was closed for several hours while investigations were carried out.

Constable Stuart Delaney of the Road Policing Unit at Lockerbie said: “Our enquiries in the circumstances surrounding this crash are continuing.

“I would appeal to any witnesses, or anyone with information or dashcam footage that may assist our investigation to contact 101 with reference number 1082 of 5 June.”
