A75 crash: 54 year old man dies after crash near Dumfries

A 54 year old man has died after a crash on the A75 near Dumfries on Friday afternoon.

The crash happened at the Glen at around 12.50pm, involving a BMW X5.

Emergency services attended and the driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

The road was closed for around eight hours while investigations took place.

Police appeal

Sergeant Colin Ramage said: "Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of the man who died at this extremely difficult time, and our enquiries into the crash are ongoing.

"I am appealing to anyone who was driving in the area at the time and who may have seen what happened to please contact officers.

"I'd also ask that anyone with dash-cam footage review this and see if it has captured anything of significance that could assist with our investigation."
