22 year old dies after car crash near Annan
Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact 101
A 22 year old man has died after a car crash near Annan on Friday evening.
The incident happened around 8.25pm on December 13, on the B6357 Annan-Cannonbie-Jedburgh road, and involved a grey Range Rover.
The 22 year old passenger was pronounced dead at the scene, while a 39 year old man was taken to Cumberland Infirmary as a precaution.
The 38 year old male driver of the car was taken to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary for treatment, and was later arrested in connection with road traffic offences before being released pending further enquiries.
Police appeal
Sergeant Wayne Carnochan said: “Our thoughts are with the family of the man who died and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances”.
“We are asking anyone who may have information to contact us. The road where the crash happened connects the town of Annan with the A74 motorway at Eaglesfield. If you were on this road around the time of the crash and have dash-cam footage that could assist with our investigation then please contact us.”
