Weymouth Police stop and search youths at ASB hot spots

They've been stepping up patrols.

Police in Weymouth have been carrying out patrols of anti-social behaviour hot spots.

3 youths were searched after being found on the football pitch in Chickerell.

One of them was found a with a small amount of suspected drugs.

A spokesperson for Weymouth & Portland Police said:

"A small amount of suspected drugs was found on one of the group and they will be dealt with in due course.

"All parents will be made aware later this evening."

Meanwhile 5 young people were also stopped near to the old Ferry Bridge Pub.

It follows recent reports of children getting into an abandoned building.

A spokesperson for Weymouth & Portland Police said:

"Only drug paraphernalia located on this occasion.

"All names have been taken and parents will be notified in due course regarding our concerns."
