The four stands and the bar at Weymouth Football Club need naming and the Board of Directors want your help.

They are looking of ways to pay homage to their 'legends of yesteryear'.

Along with their Hall of Fame, which will be on show this season, they want to rename their seating areas.

Preferably after past, memorable players, similar to the ground's name after the late Bob Lucas.

On social media people have already suggested names, with fan John Ryan saying:

"“The Tony Hobson Stand” over 1000 appearances and still is to seen over their with his family at games to date."

Another suggested Alan Carr as he was born in Weymouth, while one said the bar should be named after Alan Beer, who moved to non-league football with Weymouth F.C. in the 70's.

A Spokesperson from Weymouth Football Club said the bar also needs a new name:

"It provide a watering hole on matchdays for away fans and all fans if no segregation is needed.

"As we develop other parts of our hospitality we will again be looking for suggestions. An example of the ideas we have floated around would be the 1890 Bar or the Terra Cotta Bar."

The closing date for entries is the 31st of August so get your thinking caps on!
