Woman seriously injured in collision in West Moors
A single car was involved in the accident that happened yesterday afternoon on Station Road
A woman has been seriously injured in a collision in West Moors.
Dorset Police received a report at 3.34pm yesterday (25 May) of a single vehicle collision involving a white Vauxhall Corsa on Station Road, near to the junction with Newman’s Lane.
Emergency services attended and the fire service assisted in removing the single female occupant of the car from the vehicle.
The woman, aged in her 40s, was taken to hospital for treatment to serious injuries.
Her next of kin has been informed.
Road closures were put in place to allow the emergency services to respond to the incident and for an examination of the scene to be carried out.
Police Constable Kier Dagnall, of the traffic unit, said: “We are continuing to investigate the circumstances of this collision and I would urge any witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to please contact us.
“In particular I understand there was a boy in school uniform at the scene who may have witnessed what happened and I am keen to identify this boy so we can speak to him about what he saw.
“Finally, I would like to thank members of the public for their patience and understanding while the road closures were in place.”
