Woman robbed of car and house keys in Wareham traffic

The victim was also assaulted during an incident on East Street

A woman's been assaulted and had her car and house keys stolen during a robbery in Wareham.

The victim, in her 50s, was in her vehicle in stationary traffic on East Street at around 9.00pm last Thursday (4th July).

Another car - described as a grey or blue hatchback - pulled in front of her.

A woman known to the victim approached her and carried out the assault and theft, before getting back into her car and driving away.

A 35 year old Bournemouth has since been arrested on suspicion of robbery and bailed pending further enquiries.

Sergeant Mia Jakeman, of Dorset Police, said:

“We are continuing to investigate this incident and I would urge anyone who witnessed what happened to please make contact with us.

“I would also urge motorists who were in the area around the relevant time to please review any dashcam footage to see if they have captured anything that might assist our enquiries.”
