Woman dies in house fire in Dorset

Two men have been released without charge after a woman died in a house fire in Dorset.

Fire crews were called to General Wolfe Close in Shroton, Iwerne Courtney near Blandford at 11.50pm on Wednesday night. (9 September)

A woman in her 60's was rescued from the house, but died at the scene.

A spokesperson for Dorset Police said:

"Her family has been informed and our thoughts remain with them at this very sad time.

"A cordon was put in place to allow for emergency services to carry out an examination of the scene.

"Two men from the local area who were arrested in connection with the incident have been released from custody without charge.

"Following a post-mortem examination and early investigations, the death is not being treated as suspicious and enquiries are underway on behalf of the coroner."
