Woman, 30's, dies and young child seriously injured after crash between Sherborne and Yeovil

A woman's died and a young child has been seriously injured after an accident between Sherborne and Yeovil.
A man was also seriously injured in the three car crash that happened on the A30 yesterday afternoon.
Dorset Police say one man has been arrested.
The incident happened on the A30 close to the junction with Marl Lane.
It was reported to police at 4.48pm yesterday afternoon (Thursday 1 December).
Three cars were involved – a silver Ford Zetec, a blue VW Passat and a silver Vauxhall Astra.
A woman in her 30s from Milborne Port died at the scene. Her next of kin have been informed.
A young child from Milborne Port was taken to hospital with serious injuries and a Yeovil man in his 30s also sustained serious injuries.
A 55-year-old man from Yeovil has been arrested on suspicion of driving offences.
Police Sergeant Richard Stroud, of the traffic unit, said: “Our thoughts are with the family of the woman who sadly died.
“An investigation into the incident is underway to establish the full circumstances and I urge anyone with information, who has not yet spoken with police, to please come forward.
“I would like to hear from any motorists who were travelling along the A30 and may have captured anything of relevance on dashcam footage.
“Finally, I would like to thank the public for their patience and understanding while the road closure was in place. This was absolutely necessary to allow us to carry out a thorough examination of the scene.”
