A woman's been assaulted and had a bag of dog poo thrown at her during an incident in Poole.

The victim, in her 50s, was walking her dog in Turners Nursery field, near Uppleby Road in Branksome at around 2.00pm on Tuesday (15th October).

She was approached by a man with a Shar Pei dog, who she'd seen in the area on previous occasions.

He threw the bag of faeces at her face, before acting aggressively towards her - pushing her chest causing her fall backwards, and then kicking her arm.

He then left the field, and another woman came to ask if she was OK.

The man is described as:

  • Aged in his mid 40s
  • Around six feet seven inches tall
  • Stocky build
  • Wearing a white Adidas baseball cap
  • Red hooded top
  • Grey tracksuit trousers
  • Grey trainers

There's now a police appeal for any witnesses to come forward.

PC Andy Dickinson, of Dorset Police, said:

“This incident understandably left the victim very distressed, although fortunately she did not sustain any serious injuries.

“We are carrying out enquiries to identify the man involved and I would urge anyone with information that might assist our investigation to please come forward.

“I understand there may have been other dog walkers in the field at the relevant time and I would urge any witnesses to please make contact with us.”
