Woman arrested following Poundbury car crash

A woman in her 70s has been arrested, following a single vehicle car crash in Poundbury.

Dorset Police say a blue Renault modus was involved at the roundabout for Peverell Avenue West and Bridport Road, at around 3.50pm on Wednesday (5th July).

The driver didn't suffer serious injuries, but has been arrested on suspicion of a driving offence.

She's been released under investigation, while officers ask any witnesses to come forward.

PC Cristopher Windows, of Dorchester police, said:

“I am keen to speak with anybody who witnessed the collision or may have captured anything of relevance on dashcam footage.

“I understand a member of the public stopped to help following the incident, but left the scene prior to police arrival, and I am appealing for them to please get in touch.”
