Weymouth woman arrested after 12 year old hurt in hit and run

A 60 year old woman's been arrested and questioned on suspicion of attempted GBH and driving offences following a hit and run in Weymouth.

Police say a driver failed to stop after a collision with a bike on Tuesday (17th) June around 4.12pm at Dennis Road.

A 12 year old boy was seriously injured and taken to hospital.

The woman held by police has been bailed as enquiries continue.

PC Michael Jones, of Dorset Police, said, "Our investigation into this reported incident is ongoing and we are continuing to appeal to any witnesses or anyone with information that might assist our investigation to please contact us.

"I would also urge anyone who was driving in the area and has dashcam fitted to their vehicle to please check their footage for anything of relevance."
