Woman arrested following attempted burglary in Bridport

A woman's been arrested on suspicion of burglary, following an incident in Bridport, in broad daylight.

An offender tried to break into a property on East Street at around 3.00pm last Wednesday (3rd July).

They ran away after being disturbed by the occupant.

A 46 year old woman arrested, of no fixed abode, has been released on bail.

Investigations Officer David Burn, of Weymouth police, said:

“We are continuing to investigate this burglary.

“I would ask anyone who witnessed suspicious activity in the Askers Meadow or river walk areas to please come forward.

“I am also keen to hear from any motorists or residents of the area who may have captured relevant footage on their dashcams or home CCTV cameras.”
