Woman, 80s, involved in crash near Winfrith dies

A woman in her 80's who was involved in a crash near Winfrith has died.
Dorset Police received a report at 12.33pm on Thursday 18 August of a collision involving a blue Ford Fiesta and a grey Vauxhall Astra on the A352 between the Texaco garage and Winfrith Newburgh crossroads.
The driver of the Ford – a woman aged in her 80s – was taken to hospital by air ambulance for treatment to series injuries. Dorset Police say she died in hospital on Sunday 4 September 2022. Her next of kin has been informed.
Two occupants of the Vauxhall were also taken to hospital for treatment to injuries that were described as serious but not life-threatening.
Police investigation still ongoing
Sergeant Lee Savage, of the traffic unit, said: “Our thoughts are with the family and loved ones of the woman who has sadly died at what must be an extremely difficult time for them.
“We are continuing to carry out enquiries to establish the full circumstances of this collision. I would again urge any witnesses who have not already spoken to police, or anybody with relevant dashcam footage, to please come forward.”
