When the Queen came to Weymouth

Crowds of thousands lined Weymouth seafront in June 2009 for a visit by the Queen.
Her Majesty was joined by Prince Phillip on a tour.
She also visited the Weymouth & Portland National Sailing Academy, where she was greeted by former Olympic Sailor Edward Leask.
A number of popular seaside attractions were presented to the Queen including Weymouth's Punch and Judy Show.
She was also honoured with a scale model of Windsor Castle built out of sand by Sandworld, and a military procession.
Poppy Butcher, 93, organised the procession in 2009 and remembers it vividly - especially a mix-up she was caught up in.
Poppy told Greatest Hits Radio Dorset:
"We had to come in to the Pavilion first to get told what to do then we had to walk down from here to just along the seafront where we met her.
"As we arrived other people started cheering and clapping until I got there... they thought I was the Queen."
When Poppy eventually did meet the real Queen, she said it was a moment she will always remember:
"She's very nice. They introduced me and said I organised the military vehicles along the seafront and she said 'Oh, what a delightful place to have it', I said 'Yes Ma'am' and I had to curtsey.
"It was lovely. She was beautiful."
