Weymouth Seafood Festival ticket and location changes to stay
Next year's event will remain ticketed and will stay at the peninsula for next year.
Weymouth Seafood Festival hare announcing that changes made for this years event are to stay in place next year.
The peninsula became the focus of the festival in September, where it had traditionally been located along the harbourside.
You'll also need to buy tickets to attend next year, something that was introduced this year to limit numbers because of the pandemic.
The announcements come alongside a rebrand for Weymouth Seafood Festival, which will now be known as Seafeast.
Organisers say these changes will open up the potential for the festival to grow in future years.
Laura Avant, Festival Director said:
"We moved to the Peninsula for 2021 to enable us to confidently and safely go ahead. I don't think anyone involved could have expected it to go as well as it did - including ourselves.
"We've learned a few lessons along the way, but feedback from those who attended and those involved has been overwhelmingly positive. The new format offered more ease of movement, much more seating and a more engaged crowd. Building on the experience of this year will allow us to develop new features and content, so expect more delicious seafood, more music throughout, even more seating and some extras too - a quality event that Weymouth and Dorset can be very proud of.
"We are pleased to offer an early bird discount for both locals and visitors to take advantage of, we very much hope you'll join us".
For your ticket price, organisers are promising more seafood, especially from local waters, a zone to learn about ocean health, and more tastings and chef demos.
They're also promising the ethos of the festival remains unchanged, promoting the enjoyment of responsibly sourced seafood and raising funds for Fishermen's Mission.
Tickets are available to book for an early bird price. To find out more, visit their website.
