A prolific shoplifter's been banned from entering Weymouth town centre.
46 year old Nigel Shaun Treadwell's been given a criminal behaviour order (CBO) for five years by Weymouth Magistrates Court.
It follows his conviction for multiple shoplifting and antisocial behaviour offences in the Weymouth area.
The terms of his CBO include:
• He cannot enter Weymouth town centre except for when attending pre-arranged appointments
• He cannot congregate in a group number greater than three in parts of Weymouth town centre as specified on an exclusion map
• He cannot be drunk or consuming alcohol in a public place, except for in licenced premises
• He cannot enter or be found in any premises, building or business to which he has been banned from
PC Bryce Scott-Jones, of Weymouth NPT, said: “Treadwell is a prolific shoplifter who has frequently targeted businesses in the Weymouth area and has been involved in anti-social behaviour.
“Securing this CBO for a five-year period is the end result of months of hard work from the NPT team. We will continue to take proactive action to prevent and deter crime and protect our communities from such offenders.
“I would urge members of the public to please contact the police if Treadwell is seen to breach the terms of his order so that the matter can be investigated.”
