Weymouth & Portland Round Table hand £13K to Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance
The cash was raised at their Summerfest fun day last month
A £13,000 donation from Weymouth & Portland Round Table has been handed to Dorset & Somerset's Air Ambulance charity.
The money's come from the proceeds of their Summerfest event, held at Redlands Leisure and Community Park last month.
Thousands of people went along to the family fun day, with the bulk of the cash raised through a raffle there, donations on the gate and on the Round Table's JustGiving page.
Becky Heath, Support Engagement Officer for Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance, said:
“We are extremely grateful for all the hard work and efforts of the Weymouth and Portland Round Table and all that were involved in Summerfest. The organisation and dedication from The Round Table at Summerfest was exceptional.
“Thanks to their support we are be able to provide the communities of Dorset and Somerset with lifesaving clinical care."
Adam Luckhurst, Chairman of Weymouth and Portland Round Table, said:
“It was a real privilege to present a cheque of £13,000 to the Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance on behalf of Weymouth and Portland Round Table.
“I am so proud of my fellow members for their constant dedication and enthusiasm for local causes in the Weymouth and Portland area.
“We’ve recently had our ‘Porsches on the Prom’ event and have many more exciting fundraising events planned throughout the rest of the Summer."
SummerFest will be back for 2024, with more details to be announced in due course.
