Police in Weymouth are dealing with something of a Cinderella story - after being called out to an incident in the town.

They had a report of a group of youths damaging a door at The Range store on New Bond Street.

The group had moved on when officers arrived, but did found one trainer that had been left behind - possibly by one of the suspects.

The shoe's been taken in by police, with an appeal to trace the owner.

In a post on social media, Weymouth Police said:

"We would very much like to speak to this youngster to find out what happened, so if you have noticed your child coming home with one shoe, you can report it to us."

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Dorset Police by calling 101, quoting reference number 55240149341.

You can also leave an anonymous report with Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555 111.
