Weymouth Pavilion will be temporarily closed from Thursday (5 November) in line with the new restrictions.

All shows due to be held in November have now been postponed until next year.

In a statement on their Facebook Page the venue say they remain hopeful they can still stage a panto at Christmas.

It reads:

"We know how much Christmas Panto means to everyone and assuming we are out of Lockdown at some point in December please be assured that we will endeavour to do something.

"Hold on to your tickets and when we know more we'll let you know!"

Weymouth Pavilion have used social distancing in the theatre

"We've had a fantastic few months back at Weymouth Pavilion doing what we do best, which is live shows and putting a smile on your faces! We've hosted several successful shows, multiple events, dance classes and training sessions but now it's time for us to say goodbye again.

"We would like to say A BIG THANK YOU to our wonderful loyal customers and our fantastic team of volunteers who have once again helped us get back on our feet."

Weymouth Pavilion was given a financial lifeline of more than £500,000 by the government last month to help see the venue through the pandemic.
