Weymouth Pavilion will be lit up red this week.

The gesture is part of #WeMakeEvents, a plea to the government to support workers and businesses in the events industry.

The Pavilion is running socially distanced performances but says without funding support they have no choice but to close their doors.

In a statement on their Facebook Page they said:

"We are determined to continue to provide the community with top quality entertainment and we are really fortunate to be one of few theatres that have been able to open the doors for a few socially distanced performances but like many businesses, with no funding or support this simply won't be feasible and we will have no choice but to close our doors.

"The support we have received has been heart-warming, whether you have donated, purchased tickets or simply bought a coffee every little helps and we are so grateful."

'How to support Weymouth Pavilion'

Weymouth Pavilion have launched a Go Fund Me page for people to offer their support.

They are also asking for anyone who takes a photo of the Pavilion lit up red to post it on social media with the tag @weymouthpavilion.
