Weymouth Outdoor Education Centre registered with Ofsted
Dorset Council say it's a 'significant milestone' for the site
Weymouth's Outdoor Education Centre has been registered with Ofsted, with Dorset Council describing it as a 'significant milestone'.
The authority say it 'opens more opportunities' for young people to take part in 'adventurous and physically enriching activities'.
They also claim the Ofsted registration makes the centre more affordable and accessible for families, as it'll become eligible to join the Government's tax-free childcare scheme.
The service both holiday activities and term time afterschool clubs for children and young people.
The newest addition being their Little Explorers nature-based adventure club for 7 to 11 year olds, with older children having a go at rock climbing, sea kayaking and dinghy sailing.
Theresa Leavy, Executive Director for Children's Services at Dorset Council said:
"The benefits of tax-free childcare extend beyond financial savings; it also gives parents more options when it comes to choosing from childcare settings that best suits them, including after-school clubs, sports activities, and holiday camps. We are delighted the Dorset Outdoor Education service is now one of these options."
