A special service of remembrance is being held on Weymouth seafront today (Monday 25th April) to mark ANZAC Day.

It's in recognition of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps who passed through Dorset during the First World War - and fought in battles in the Middle East and Western Front in Europe.

The service is being held at the ANZAC Memorial opposite the Hotel Prince Regent in Weymouth at 11.00am.

It'll be attended by the Mayor of Weymouth, local councillors, representatives from ex-service organisations and associations, standard bearers, and Commander Luke Miller representing the Australian High Commission.

Anyone is welcome to go along to the act of remembrance.

The service will be carried out by the Mayor’s Chaplain Rev. Deacon Geoffrey Carey.
