Weymouth man arrested in connection with series of burglaries

A Weymouth man has been arrested in connection with a series of reported burglaries.

The first incident happened at around 5.40am on Sunday 25 October 2020 at Broadwey Village Stores on Dorchester Road in Weymouth. The offenders allegedly gained entry by smashing a glass panel. Nothing was reported as stolen.

At 5.12am on Tuesday (27 October 2020) Dorset Police was alerted to an alarm activation at the Co-op store in Crossways. A quantity of cigarettes was reportedly stolen.

The third incident happened at 4.05am on Wednesday (28 October 2020) when offenders reportedly gained entry to Corner House Stores in Broadmayne and stole a quantity of cigarettes and alcohol.

Following enquiries by detectives from Weymouth CID, a 31-year-old Weymouth man has been arrested on suspicion of burglary and has been released under investigation.
