Lulworth Coastguard, Solent Coastguard and Kimmeridge Coastguard were called at 8pm last night to a couple who had become lost in the Worbarrow Bay Area.

As they called 999 for help, the couple reported they were in-between the cliff and sea but couldn't give an exact location.

Due to their inaccessible location Weymouth Lifeboat was launched to help with the search.

The coastguard Teams at Worbarrow Bay

A spokesperson from Lulworth Coastguard said:

"The casualties were illuminated until the lifeboat arrived on scene.

"The ALB used their Y boat to get close to shore and plucked the pair from the rocks.

"After medical checks, the Y boat then transferred the male and female to Worbarrow beach where they were met by Coastgaurd officers.

"The unharmed pair were escorted back to their vehicle. At this point, the teams were stood down, and returned to their respective stations."
