Weymouth Town Council is helping to raise awareness about the work of Dorset Mental Health Forum by lighting the clock face of the iconic Jubilee Clock green over the August Bank Holiday weekend.

Dorset Mental Health Forum aims to increase understanding of mental health, wellbeing and recovery, challenging prejudice around people’s experiences of mental distress and trauma, through lived experience expertise, education and co-production.

The charity turns 30 this year and lighting up the clock tower kick starts celebratory activities, which culminates with a community festival event in September.

Sarah Rose, Operations Director for the Forum said:

“We are pleased to work in partnership with a range of services across the county and are grateful to Weymouth Town Council for giving us the opportunity to amplify the voice of our organisation and enable us to reach more people who may benefit from our work.”

Cllr Ann Weaving, Mayor of Weymouth, said:

“It’s great that we’re able to use the town’s Jubilee Clock to promote various good causes and show our support for a diverse range of charities and awareness days."

“Dorset Mental Health Forum is an important charity that provides a number of valuable services to people in our community who need that extra support with managing their mental health difficulties. I’m delighted that we’re able to recognise this charity and help raise awareness about their work.”

Weymouth’s iconic Jubilee Clock is lit up throughout the year to raise awareness for good causes. In recent months, the clockface has been lit up in support of local and national charities including Weymouth Street Pastors, Marie Curie, and the RNLI.
