A Weymouth restaurant's been named as one of the best places to eat in Britain - and not for the first time!
The Dorset Burger Company, on King Street, has added to its impressive collection of awards after being shortlisted in the ‘Burger Bucket List’.
The placement on the shortlist, which his curated by website Stag Web, is the restaurant’s first award since the pandemic.
Director Emma Cogan said:
“It was a complete surprise.
“We’re fortunate because this is the second time we’ve been nominated through Stag Web. We’re really thrilled.”
Emma added by saying that it has been gratifying for the team:
“It’s certainly put a spring in everyone’s step and a smile on everyone’s face.
“We’re a small team. We’ve got about 19 members of staff, some full time but many of them part time. And we’ve got quite a few young people where this is their first job.
“It is hard work, and they’ve worked extremely hard.”
The Burger Bucket List is a shortlist that is put together by Stag Web though secret customers. In their review they said:
“With a top reputation for their big specials, there’s always something to tempt you here – and you should defo give in to this temptation!”
The Weymouth restaurant also celebrates a milestone birthday later this year, so for Emma it is great timing:
“We’ve been going for ten years in October, so it’s a really nice way to celebrate.”
