West Dorset MP hails resignations of Prime Minister's advisors
Chris Loder took to Twitter to comment as four of Boris Johnson's aides.
The conservative MP for West Dorset is hailing the resignations of four of the Prime Minister's top aides.
Chris Loder took to twitter last night as news broke Head of Policy Munira Mirza,
Chief of Staff Dan Rosenfield, Principal Private Secretary Martin Reynolds, and Director of Communications Jack Doyle had all resigned from their posts.
It's now thought a fifth aide may have resigned this morning.
Many MPs have banded around the PM, putting the resignations down to a promised clear out of Number 10 following the damaging findings of the Sue Gray Report.
Chris Loder wrote:
"Good and it’s about time. If they had any honour they would have resigned before - rather than allow rotten, filthy briefings to Sunday papers and give false assurances and for this mess to go on and on."
It's not the first time Chris has put his head above the parapet in recent months, particularly with regards to the so-called 'Partygate', although he is among MPs who said they would reserve judgement until the delivery of the Sue Gray report.
Speaking to Greatest Hits Radio Dorset, Chris said he and the Prime Minister shared words before Christmas where Mr Loder says he told Boris Johnson he expects a Prime Minister who can be respected and trusted.
The Prime Minister told him he took his points on board.
Speaking at the time, Chris said:
"The thing that really matters to my core is integrity, agree or disagree, the key core integrity of the government and those in the highest elected office is vital and I want to ensure that.
"I should just be crystal clear, that if we find, and I know a lot of people believe this already but I'm not the sort of person who jumps into making conclusions before I've read all of the facts, and I haven't had all of the facts, just a lot of hearsay and a lot of press coverage, but when we have the full facts of the matter and if people, regardless of who they are, have lied about this, then they should resign."
