The exact moment when a significant rock fall happened on a Dorset beach has been captured on camera.

The drop at West Bay has been picked up by the Environment Agency - scroll to around 26 seconds for the start of the fall:

The fall on Wednesday last week (18th January) is still causing problems in the area.

Dorset Council has asked people not to 'attempt to clamber over the pile'.

They've warned that recent heavy rainfall, followed by cold temperatures, means that cliffs along the Jurassic Coast could be more unstable.

On the site of the rock fall, the access to the coast path isn't affected, but we're urged to stay away from the base and top of the cliff.

Dorset Council rangers have also confirmed that the rocks do not contain fossils.
