Weldmar Hospicecare to hold popular Summer Fete again
The Dorset charity's bringing back a flagship fundraiser
After a 3 year absence due to coronavirus, the Weldmar Hospicecare Summer Fete is making its long awaited return to Dorchester this September, and this year it's going to be bigger and better than ever.
The fete on Saturday 10 September will raise money for the hospice and provide essential care to those who are taking the most difficult journeys of their lives.
From petting zoos to virtual gaming, this place has everything, for everyone, of every age.
Held in the meadow and gardens of the charity’s Inpatient Unit in Dorchester, entry for adults is £2 while children go for free.
A key figure in the running of this fete is hospice fundraiser Clare Ash.
She like many otherwise in Dorchester cannot wait for this highly anticipated comeback, citing its significance to the town and the hospice:
‘We are delighted to be putting it back in the diary; it brings a tremendous sense of community spirit.
"There’s just so much for everyone and we would love to welcome you aboard.
"It is about looking after the family as a complete package rather than just the patient alone, and obviously money is at the forefront of making sure we can continue to provide that."
