Weather warning issued for snow and ice in Dorset

Driver's are being urged to take care on the roads

Just as Dorset's recovering from Storm Bella, more bad weather is on the way.

The Met Office have issued a yellow weather warning for snow and ice today. (28 December)

Rain may turn to snow, which along with widespread ice, could lead to some potential travel disruption.

The warning remains in place until 8pm tonight.

What to expect

Some roads and railways likely to be affected with longer journey times by road, bus and train services

Some injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces

Probably some icy patches on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths

Meanwhile, Dorset Council has paid tribute to its workers for helping clear up the damage caused by Storm Bella.

Several trees came down across the county affecting major routes.

In Winterborne Zelston the A31 was blocked both ways blocked due to fallen power cables.
