Waterloo Care Home near Wimborne rated 'Good' in latest inspection
It's been praised for the way care teams interact with residents
Waterloo Care Home in the quaint village of Three Legged Cross, near Wimborne, Dorset, has been rated as ‘Good’ following its latest inspection by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
It's an improvement on its previous inspection in 2019 where the overall service was rated as 'Requires Improvement.' Back in 2019 inspectors concluded that the service was not always safe and not always well-led.
The CQC is an independent healthcare body that regulates social care in England.
The unannounced inspection on 16 and 17 August this year saw the home now classified as ‘Good’ overall and in all key areas (Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive and Well-led) in a report published 9th September.
Inspectors found that residents and staff alike spoke warmly about the positive culture within the home and praised the way the care teams interacted with residents in a kind and considerate manner.
Relatives were keen to highlight the openness of the home, with visits from family and friends always encouraged.
Waterloo Care Home Registered Manager Tammy Maidment said:
“Everyone at Waterloo was delighted to receive the report from CQC and to be rated ‘Good’ in all regulated areas.
"On a personal level, I would like to thank everyone who contributed to the inspection, the kind comments really do go a long way.
"I cannot thank the whole team enough for what they do on a daily basis to enhance the lives of the people we are entrusted to care for”.
