Man suffers spinal injuries after fall on Portland coast path
A rescue operation was launched to help a walker who'd suffered a fall on Portland
A man's been taken to hospital with suspected spinal injuries after suffering a fall on the coast path at Portland.
Coastguard teams were called to help paramedics with the rescue operation on Saturday afternoon.
A spokesperson for Portland Bill Coastguard Rescue Team said:
" The Gentleman had slipped and fallen on the coast path, South of Nicodemus Knob suffering a suspected neck and spinal injury.
"Portland Port Police, assisted with gaining access to the area.
"Paramedics were then able to treat the casualty for his injuries, before placing him on the teams stretcher. He was then carried the short distance to the awaiting ambulance, to be taken to Dorset County Hospital.
"We wish the gentleman all the best in his recovery."
