An unoccupied house in a West Dorset village has been broken into - prompting police to ask us to watch out for suspicious activity.

Officers got a report that entry had been gained to a house in Halstock at around 1.50pm last Wednesday (14th December).

A man had been seen leaving the property, which had previously been checked over 10 days earlier.

A window had been damaged, but luckily nothing had been stolen.

The man leaving the address is described as:

  • Aged between 25 and 35
  • Around six feet two inches tall
  • Dark hair
  • Unshaven
  • Wearing a dark jacket and beige scarf

PC Eleanor Speight, of Dorset Police, said:

“We are carrying out enquiries into this incident and I would appeal to anyone who has seen any suspicious activity in the area to please make contact with us.

“I would also like to hear from anyone with information relating to the individual involved.”
