Two people taken to hospital after crash in Weymouth

Two people have been taken to hospital after an accident in Weymouth last night. (18 January)
Two vehicles were involved in the crash at Chafey's Roundabout at around 8pm.
The roof of one of the vehicles had to be removed by firefighters to free two women who were trapped.
A spokesman for Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue said:
"Both crews from Weymouth set to work in stabilising the vehicle ready for roof removal where two adult females were medically trapped.
"Both released and put in care of Ambulance Service personnel.
"Crews made the scene safe and handed over to Police who were awaiting recovery vehicle."
A spokesman for Dorset Police said:
"We received a report at 8.04pm on Monday 18 January 2021 of a two-vehicle road traffic collision at Chafeys Roundabout in Weymouth.
"Officers attended, along with the ambulance service. The fire service also attended and assisted with removing two women from one of the vehicles. The women were taken to hospital for treatment to injuries that were believed to be serious but not life-threatening.
"Officers left the scene at around 10pm."
