Two former Special Constables at Dorset Police have been charged with misconduct in public office.

34 year old Jade Harvard had been investigated by the Independent Office for Police Conduct.

It's alleged she shared photographs of a dead body, and other sensitive policing information with members of the public between May and August 2020.

The death involved was not treated as suspicious.

Dorset Police referred her conduct to the IOPC in September 2020, and she resigned from the force in December 2021.

Separately, 29 year old Charlotte Griffiths had been investigated by the watchdog, and now also faces a charge of misconduct in public office.

She alleged to have shared sensitive policing information without authority and unauthorised access to police systems, between May and September 2020.

That's led to a further charge of an offence under the Computer Misuse Act 1990.

Dorset Police referred to the IOPC in April 2022, with the alleged offences discovered during investigations into another Dorset Police employee.

She resigned from the force in June 2022.

Both Jade Harvard and Charlotte Griffiths are due to appear before Poole Magistrates Court on Friday (16th August).
